About Leven
What Leven is like.
Around Leven Canal, Holy Trinity Church, Barley Gate and the A165.
Leven is a large village between Beverley and Hornsea, just off the A165. It has grown several times over since the 1960s, as estates such as Barley Gate were built. Holy Trinity Church replaced the old parish church, St Faith's, in the 1840s. The Leven Canal runs west to the River Hull and is now a protected nature site.
The legal work that usually comes up
Newer homes are often bought with help, through an equity loan or a shared ownership lease. A Help to Buy equity loan is repaid when the home is sold or transferred, including after a death. A shared ownership lease has its own rules on who can take over the home. The will needs to work within those terms, not against them.
