What you can expect from me.
I believe legal planning should feel straightforward, not stressful. That's why I handle everything personally, from our first conversation through to the final signature. No hand-offs, no jargon, no surprises.
I'm a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), which means I bring specialist expertise in inheritance tax, trusts, and estate planning. But I explain everything in plain English, because that's what you deserve.
Every matter is on a fixed fee. You'll always know what you're paying before you commit. And if something takes longer than expected, that's my responsibility, not yours.

Full Member of STEP, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. The letters TEP after my name show that Full Membership. I earned it by completing the STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates, a two-year specialist qualification in inheritance, trusts and tax.

Aaron has worked in wills, trusts and probate since 2013, 13 years of fee earning at national and regional firms, and has been a solicitor since 2022. Before this practice he acted for everyone from trade union members to high-net-worth individuals in London.
How I work
Fixed fees, home visits, evenings.
- Fixed fees
Every job has a fixed fee, agreed in writing before any work starts. There is no hourly billing. If something takes longer than expected, that is my cost, not yours.
- Based in Bridlington
I work from Bridlington and there is no office to visit. Meetings happen at your home, by phone or by video, so there is nowhere you have to travel to.
- Home visits
I come to you if that is easier: your kitchen table, a care home, a farm office. Anywhere in East and North Yorkshire.
- Evenings
Weekday evening appointments if daytimes are hard, for instance if you work full time or are caring for someone.
- Video and post
Video calls and secure document sharing if you would rather not meet in person. Some matters can be done entirely that way; some cannot, and I will say so.
- Plain English
I explain everything in language you can make decisions with. Where a legal term is unavoidable, I define it as I go.
- Availability
Appointments are usually available within a few working days, including Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and home visits across East and North Yorkshire.
A first call takes about 15 minutes. The phone is answered Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm.
No hand-offs
One person, start to finish.
At larger firms a matter can pass between a trainee, a paralegal and a partner. Here it does not. I take the first call, I draft the documents, I meet you, and I answer the phone afterwards.
You never repeat your story, the advice does not change hands, and nothing is lost between desks.
I am the person accountable for your matter, so I am the person doing the work.

Background
Where I trained and where I have practised.
My interest in law began at school in Scarborough. I read law at Newcastle University, graduating with a 2:1 LLB (Hons). I took the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in York and passed with Commendation.
Before this practice I worked at national and regional firms, acting for everyone from trade union members to high-net-worth individuals in London. That range is why I can draft a straightforward will for a local family one day and advise on a trust or an inheritance tax plan the next.
In 2022 I completed the STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates and became a Full Member of STEP. The diploma is a two-year specialist qualification in inheritance, trusts and tax. The letters TEP after my name show I am a Full Member of STEP.
