Flamborough Head is the chalk headland at the tip of the peninsula. It is crowned by the 1806 Trinity House lighthouse and the surviving chalk tower of 1674. Heritage Coast cliffs, seabird colonies and the old foghorn station ring it. Few people live right out on the Head, in lighthouse cottages, former coastguard houses and a few clifftop farms. It is still the landmark that defines the whole community.
