Aaron Johnson
Consultant Solicitor & TEP
“I believe legal planning should feel straightforward, not stressful. That's why I handle everything personally — from our first conversation through to the final signature. No hand-offs, no jargon, no surprises. I'm a full member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP), which means I bring specialist expertise in inheritance tax, trusts, and estate planning. But I explain everything in plain English, because that's what you deserve. Every matter is on a fixed fee. You'll always know what you're paying before you commit. And if something takes longer than expected, that's my responsibility — not yours.”

Learn more about AaronProtect Your Finances Before You Need To
A Property & Financial Affairs LPA gives someone you trust the legal authority to manage your money, pay your bills, and make decisions about your property if you're ever unable to do so yourself.
Unlike a Health & Welfare LPA, this document can be used while you still have capacity — with your permission. This makes it useful not just in emergencies, but also for practical situations like managing finances during a hospital stay or while travelling.
Aaron explains everything in plain English and makes sure you're comfortable with every decision before anything is signed.
Who Is This For?
- Anyone over 18 who wants to plan ahead for their financial security
- People approaching retirement who want arrangements in place early
- Anyone with property, savings, or investments to protect
- Business owners who need someone to manage finances if incapacitated
- Families who want to avoid the cost and stress of a Court of Protection application
What's Included in Your Fixed Fee
- A consultation where Aaron helps you choose your attorneys and understand their responsibilities
- Guidance on whether attorneys should act jointly, independently, or a mix of both
- Setting limits and conditions on what your attorneys can do
- Guidance on property decisions, investments, and gifting
- Professional drafting of your LPA by Aaron personally
- Aaron acts as your Certificate Provider — confirming you understand the document
- Full OPG registration so your LPA is ready when you need it
What's Not Included (Available If You Need Them)
- Medical capacity assessment — if there are concerns about your capacity, a formal medical opinion may be required. This is a third-party cost set by the GP or specialist (quoted separately)
- Complex or unusual instructions/restrictions — if you need bespoke conditions beyond standard arrangements (quoted separately)
- Replacement of attorneys after registration — if circumstances change and you need to update your LPA (quoted separately)
- Changes to a registered LPA — amendments after registration require specific legal steps (quoted separately)
Your situation may be entirely straightforward and not require any of these.
What Happens If You Don't Act?
Without an LPA, your family would need to apply to the Court of Protection to manage your finances — a process that typically costs thousands of pounds, takes many months, and means a court-appointed deputy makes decisions instead of someone you've chosen. Even your spouse can be locked out of joint financial decisions without an LPA.
